Acne scars
Acne is a skin disease that affects many teenagers and also adults. Even after the acute phase, more severe courses leave more or less large traces in the form of scars on the affected areas that do not disappear on their own. Acne scars on the facial skin are particularly disturbing, whether in the form of sunken or red scars.
Two laser therapies can be used effectively here.
How does laser treatment of acne scars work?
When treating acne scars, you have the option of working with two different lasers.
In fractional laser therapy, the laser beam is divided into several hundred partial beams that create punctiform micro-injuries. This stimulates the skin to renew itself and produce collagen. Acne scars are smoothed.
To treat red acne scars, we use a KTP vascular laser. This gentle laser reduces redness by selectively obliterating capillaries.
How does the laser work?
When treating acne scars with the fractional laser, an anesthetic cream is applied before treatment. During the treatment, the affected areas are scanned with the laser head, causing micro-injuries. Afterwards, redness, slight swelling and small bumps occur for up to 7 days.
No numbing cream is required for the treatment of red acne scars. Here, the area to be treated is scanned piece by piece with the laser. After the laser treatment, only redness with slight swelling appears for 3-4 days.
The treated areas should be protected from the sun for four weeks.
Depending on the severity of the scars, we recommend 3-8 treatment appointments.
How much does laser treatment cost?
The costs depend on the localization and effort. One session costs from about 350 euros.
