Lipomas are benign tumors that develop from fat cells. In most cases, they are located in the subcutaneous fatty tissue.

Lipomas can be palpated as soft, movable nodules that can vary greatly in size and are usually located on the trunk.

They usually grow slowly - often over a period of years.

Lipomas can usually be detached from the tissue under local anesthesia and surgically removed.
